The COVID-19 pandemic has brought an unforeseeable future to the world. As health crises all over the world became prevalent, leaving the everyday lives of people at risk. Due to this, health protocols are now considered the norm.

As a resident outside of Davao City, I have been able to hear the efforts made by the localities of Davao City to take preemptive measures in fighting against an invincible enemy. Regular updates of new cases and deaths, as well as information across different mediums, have been the primary route of dissemination in Davao City. Text messaging initiatives that notifies all sorts of people across the City were also implemented to alert the people to always take precaution and to persuade the residents to take a vaccine shot. Aside from that, a city-wide implementation of a QR code system has been in effect in establishments that host a wide scope of people.

Local Government
As the availability of COVID-19 vaccines became common, Davao City took an immediate response by utilizing vaccines to let the flow of the City become life once more. According to Davao City's official website for COVID-19 related news, the Response Cluster of the Davao City COVID-19 Task Force has been working hard to implement the use of face masks in crowded areas strictly. After 2,168 individuals were apprehended from March 1 to 31, 2021, for violating the health protocol. Furthermore, vaccination sites have been scattered all across the City to become more accessible to the general public. Such initiative even encapsulates malls and "Resbakuna sa Botika" that caters Dabawenyos to fight against COVID-19. Moreover, all vaccination sites are free, and the residents are only required to wait a few minutes, and the rest will be taken care of by the respondents.
Residents in Davao City
The Dabawenyos have continued to follow health and safety protocols even after taking vaccine shots. Since the local government still requires people to take utmost care in dealing with public spaces as the danger of the virus still affects a person even if they are vaccinated. The registration of the DQR code was also established to make the contact tracing and vaccination details more accessible not just for the LGU but also for the residents.
Private Sector
The private sector has been a significant contributor to maintaining the low spread of the COVID-19. Establishments and other NGOs have made their efforts to communicate with the City. Volunteers were also a huge factor in taking against the pandemic. The lives of the residents are now slowly returning to their normal state, but the slight fear of yet another influx in cases is still present. However, dabawenyos and other regions in the country are still active in taking care of the welfare of the general public.
